Lawsuit: Marijuana Shop Says Neighbors Complaining Of Odor Was Phony Reason For Eviction Notice

OREGON: A business that claims to be Portland‘s oldest marijuana dispensary is asking a judge to stop its property management company from evicting it based on what it calls phony reasons — including that neighbors have complained of the odor of pot.

Brothers Cannabis Club at Southeast 36th Avenue and Division Street filed court papers last week stating that Brezza Properties is trying to break its lease and boot it from the commercial property it has leased since December 2010.

The suit claims that two weeks after signing a 13-month lease in October 2015, Arrielle Mali of Brezza Properties sent pot-shop owner Peou Sea an eviction notice stating that the bank, which owns the property, is forcing Brezza Properties to evict the pot shop.
