Law enforcers raid 22 businesses, homes and warehouses connected to suspected marijuana grow operations

MICHIGAN:  State, county and federal police agencies in connection with the state Attorney General’s Office have raided 22 properties in Wayne, Oakland, Washtenaw and Jackson counties at the conclusion of a seven-month investigation into illegal marijuana cultivation and sales.

The investigation yielded over 500 plants, “a large quantity of processed marijuana,” multiple weapons and “several” arrests, according to a press release issued by the state police Monday. [Read more…]

Michigan pharmacist who grew medical marijuana for personal use has license suspended

MICHIGAN: A South Haven-area pharmacist has had his pharmacy license suspended because of a marijuana possession conviction last fall after police discovered marijuana plants growing on his Casco Township property.

According to a news release from the Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs, registered pharmacist Donald James Buckley, 71, was found guilty in Allegan County District Court last October of a misdemeanor, placed on probation for six months and ordered to pay fines and costs.
