COLORADO: Medicine Man Technologies has announced an exclusive licensing agreement with Canada House Wellness Group, through itswholly owned subsidiary Abba Medix Corp., for deployment of its intellectual property and product lines (Three a Light™, Success Nutrients™, General Intellectual Property) into the Canadian marketplace.

The licensing agreement calls for an initial payment of $4.65M (CAD) in the form of cash and stock for licensing of Medicine Man Technologies’ intellectual property, product lines, and assignment of an existing Cultivation MAX agreement to Canada House.  Medicine Man Technologies will also be entitled to revenue-based fees related to this deployment over the duration of the license agreement and will be assisting Canada House’s marketing efforts.

Screenshot 2018-07-17 10.46.17Medicine Man Technologies’ current CEO, Mr. Brett Roper and members of the team will be working extensively with Canada House Wellness through the balance of this year to assist with the transition and product development, in particular focusing on the deployment of a highly efficient network of newly announced micro-cultivator license types in Canada as well as other goods and service offerings.

Brett Roper, Medicine Man Technologies’ co-founderand CEO commented, “We are very excited to be aligning ourselves with the Canada House team as they focus on their growth and value goals in the Canadian Cannabis marketplace.  In particular, this agreement provides potential future cost-based advantages to Canada House and craft-based micro-cultivators in the evolving supply chain, providing a more viable financial operating basis.  These types of opportunities facilitate the creation of additional jobs and infrastructure investments that will be very nimble and not tied down to any particular geographic area, also allowing for substantially less investment risk as we continue down this evolutionary path.”

Pro Athletes to Discuss CTE and Cannabis At New York Trade Show & Conference

March 16, 2016 by MJ News Network 2 Comments

NEW YORK: A number of high profile professional athletes will discuss sports and cannabis on a panel at the upcoming Cannabis World Congress & Business Exposition (CWCBExpo) on June 16, 2016 at the Jacob K  Javits Convention Center.

According to event promoters, pro athletes from the NFL and NHL will provide frank insight on how legally using cannabis has helped them manage pain, become less reliant on prescription painkillers, and not affect their playing performance.  This thought-leadership panel “CTE, Concussions and CBD;” will feature: Charlie Adams, formerly Denver Broncos and Houston Texans; Eben Britton, NFL guard and tackle for Jacksonville Jaguars and Chicago Bears and current free agent; Riley D. Cote, former professional ice hockey player with the Philadelphia Flyers; and former Denver Broncos wide receiver Nathan Ross “Nate” Jackson.

Joining the cannabis sports discussion will be Heather Jackson, CEO of Realm of Caring, a non-profit and advocacy group that provide support services and resources to those using cannabinoid products.

“In talking to many NFL players, I have heard a reoccurring theme, and that is ‘protect the shield.’   The NFL will now have an opportunity to protect their players, and I consider that a much more valiant effort.  Research into CTE will help all neurodegenerative disorders, so a project like this is exciting to me personally and professionally,” added Ms. Jackson, of Realm of Caring.

Nevada Lawmakers Take Colorado Marijuana Tour

April 26, 2015 by MJ News Network Leave a Comment

NEVADA:  With smiles, selfies and a few nervous chuckles, a group of Nevada legislators and policymakers got a first-hand look at Colorado’s fast-growing legal marijuana industry this weekend, coming face-to-face with thousands of green growing plants.

The small group is part of Nevada’s efforts to understand what legalization could mean. The Silver State has permitted medical marijuana, and now there’s talk voters might be asked to legalize recreational pot next year.

The group met its Colorado counterparts, and toured several marijuana stores, including the high-tech, 40,000-square-foot Medicine Man in Denver, one of the state’s largest.

Blue Line Protection Group Providing Financial, Security And Compliance To Legal Marijuana Industry

June 17, 2014 by MJ News Network 1 Comment

COLORADO:  Blue Line Protection Group, a leading provider of protection, financial and compliance services to the legal cannabis industry, was featured on the front page of The Denver Post on Sunday, June 15th in the article, “Reluctance of banks leaves pot shops looking for secure practices.”

The article focuses on the unique and uncertain banking issues facing legal marijuana dispensaries in Colorado. Traditional banks have not been willing to offer services to cannabis-related businesses due to the serious compliance issues they face, as it is illegal under federal law to manufacture, distribute or dispense marijuana.

The story highlights “Medicine Man,” a family-owned Denver marijuana business with designs on becoming a national brand that has employed Blue Line Protection Group’s security services since January 1st of this year. In addition to its armed guard security and compliance services, Blue Line is currently working with five Colorado marijuana companies to provide a viable financial solution for lawful cannabis dispensaries and has drawn interest from two Colorado-based banks.

The Denver Post article quoted Dan Sullivan, Blue Line Protection Group’s Vice President of Sales & Training and Andy Williams, Medicine Man’s President & CEO, describing how the two businesses are successfully working together.

Referring to Blue Line Protection Group, the article stated, “The company would serve as a compliance intermediary, an independent third party that would provide banks with data confirming that customers are 21 or older, licensing confirmation, monthly tax income, sales figures and other sensitive information.”

Mr. Sullivan commented, “The banks are saying they won’t do it because it’s an enormous amount of information they don’t possess. A third party, though, could do it for them. Blue Line would transport cash from businesses, store it in its own vault and then take it to a bank processing center.”

Andy Williams said the arrangement would give Medicine Man access to debit cards and checking and the terms were agreeable.

Sean Campbell, Blue Line’s Chief Executive Officer, commented on the article, “Blue Line has developed a proprietary standards and compliance verification program for banks interested in providing services to cannabis-related businesses. This makes Blue Line a natural fit to provide ongoing compliance services and reporting in this industry as we build upon our current suite of services to satisfy federal banking compliance requirements.”
