HempMeds Exhibits At First-Ever SXSW Wellness Expo in Austin, TX

CALIFORNIA: Medical Marijuana Inc subsidiary  has announced that it will be exhibiting at the first-ever SXSW Wellness Expo in Austin, TX, on March 10-11.

The SXSW Wellness Expo, which will take place at the Palmer Events Center, is the first time the festival has ever hosted an exhibition focused on fueling the mind, body and soul. The two-day exhibition will not only feature numerous companies within the wellness landscape, but also the SXSW Wellness Expo Stage and other areas with programming that includes workshops, demos, fitness classes, speakers, readings, relaxation activities, and more.

“We’re excited to break into this new facet of SXSW and hope that we can use our presence there to help spread education on cannabidiol, also known as CBD, to even more consumers than ever before,” said HempMeds® President Stephen Jones.

HempMeds® was the first company to ever bring hemp-based cannabidiol (CBD) oil products to market in the U.S. in 2012 — and the first to both make CBD products available in bulk for U.S. consumers and also provide high-quality CBD hemp oil to customers around the world. HempMeds® was also the first-ever company to receive historic federal government import approvals for its CBD products in the nations of BrazilMexico and Paraguay.

“We pride ourselves on being a company of firsts and we are excited to participate in SXSW’s first-ever Wellness Expo,” said Medical Marijuana, Inc. CEO Dr. Stuart Titus. “It’s important that we help clear up some of the false information about CBD and spread awareness as to its many health and wellness benefits.”

HempMeds Wins Product Registration Hearing In Puerto Rico, Begins Selling First-Ever Approved Nutraceutical Product

CALIFORNIA: Medical Marijuana, Inc., the first publicly traded cannabis company in the United States, has announced that its subsidiary HempMeds had its product registrations affirmed in Puerto Rico, enabling the company to continue selling its CBD hemp oil products freely throughout the U.S. territory. This major milestone marks another historic first for RSHO as the first and only legally registered cannabis product to be sold in Puerto Rico as a nutritional supplement.

In September of 2015, Puerto Rico’s Departmento de Salud (Department of Health) approved 12 RSHO products through Medical Marijuana, Inc. subsidiary HempMeds for use in the territory. In Sept. 2016, the Department of Health notified Medical Marijuana, Inc. of its intention to cancel the registration of the Company’s CBD hemp oil products, stating that “HempMeds products contained a controlled substance (CBD) considered to be unlawful under the Classification or Schedule 1 of the Federal Law on Controlled Substances.”

In July 2017, per request of Medical Marijuana, Inc. for a reconsideration of this determination, Puerto Rico’s Department of Health repealed its initial determination, reinstating the registration of HempMeds products in Puerto Rico and providing the Company the right to sell them freely in the market of Puerto Rico. In appealing the decision, the Company asserted that its products were derived from the part of the plant, Cannabis Sativa L, that is exempt from the definition of “marijuana” under both the federal and Puerto Rico Controlled Substances Acts. Accordingly, the Company asserted, its products were legal under both federal and Puerto Rico law.  The final determination held that:

  • HempMeds products are neither marijuana, nor containing marijuana. They are natural – not synthetic – based products of industrial oil or “hemp oil” that is extracted from the stalk or mature stems of the plant Cannabis Sativa L. The products are not psychoactive and do not have the psychotropic effect of marijuana.
  • HempMeds products are not substances controlled under federal law. The federal CSA identifies “marijuana” as a controlled substance under Category or Schedule 1, but the definition of “marijuana” expressly excludes from its scope oil and other derivatives of the stalk or mature stems of the Cannabis Sativa plant L.

“We are pleased with the decision to reinstate the registration of HempMeds products in Puerto Rico, as we can now continue providing the more than 3.6 million residents of this territory with CBD hemp oil products that are helping people around the world,” said Medical Marijuana, Inc. CEO Dr. Stuart Titus. “We are extremely proud to have been the first Company to provide the people of Puerto Rico with CBD hemp oil products, especially after the World Health Organization’s recent recommendation not to schedule CBD.”

Why Project CBD Loses Motion To Dismiss $100 Million Lawsuit

CALIFORNIA:  Months ago, Cashinbis broke a story that Project CBD’s industry damning ‘special report’ had been confirmed false by the original testing facility in addition to third party contributions. The news release systematically broke down the inaccuracies and false propagandas that littered Project CBD’s ‘report’ and led to the biggest lawsuit in the history of the cannabis industry. Now, justice seems to be on the horizon for Medical Marijuana, Inc. as a California Superior Court has struck down Project CBD’s Anti-SLAPP motion and motion to reconsider in the ongoing court case between the two companies. It was last October when Medical Marijuana, Inc. (MJNA) announced that it had filed a $100M lawsuit against the multiple companies that had published false allegations against MJNA, its portfolio companies and their CBD hemp oil brands.

Interestingly enough, other companies in the suit, including the testing lab who had initially released the false testing report, have settled with MJNA, retracting all reports as incomplete and false. Perhaps even more interesting, Project CBD was recently caught, on camera, attempting to market and sell their own line of competing CBD products at a recent cannabis conference. It’s true what they say, ‘Slander happens in a second. Integrity happens over time’.

The California Superior Court has now ruled twice in favor of MJNA’s lawsuit, striking down Project CBD’s Anti-SLAPP motion in addition to a motion to reconsider.  In filing the Anti-SLAPP motion, Project CBD had attempted to have Medical Marijuana, Inc.’s $100 million lawsuit dismissed on the grounds that it violated Project CBD’s right to free speech.

Hemp Oil Hustlers: A Project CBD Special Report On Medical Marijuana Inc., HempMeds And Kannaway

A half year ago, Project CBD assigned a writer to investigate and report on Medical Marijuana Inc., a penny stock umbrella company that markets “hemp oil” products infused with cannabidiol (CBD), a medicinal component of the cannabis plant. Originally we had hoped to shed light on the complex financial machinations of Medical Marijuana Inc., a subject that had been addressed by a few stock market analysts but not by journalists in general interest publications.

Project CBD was poised to publish Aaron Miguel Cantu’s research when we heard complaints from several sources that people were getting sick, in some cases “violently ill,” when they ingested “Real Scientific Hemp Oil,” Medical Marijuana Inc.’s flagship product. We decided to delay the release of our report until we had a chance to look into whether there was any truth to these allegations.

Our investigation proceeded in an unanticipated direction, involving analytical lab tests, hemp oil production tours, and a crash course in scientific data regarding toxic solvents, heavy metals, and other contaminants. We have presented our findings in this report.
