Santa Ana Police Officers Caught On Camera Eating Marijuana, Joking About Kicking Amputee

CALIFORNIA:  Surveillance video shows a raid conducted by Santa Ana police officers at an unlicensed marijuana dispensary last month.

The edited video shows officers telling everyone to get on the ground. It also shows officers removing surveillance equipment, but the lawyer for the dispensary says hidden cameras caught much more, including officers eating marijuana edibles and joking about kicking an amputee.

“Did you punch that one-legged old Benita?” one officer says.

“I was about to kick her in her ****ing nub,” a female officer replies.

Marla James volunteers at the Sky High Collective. She’s legally blind and says several medical issues keep her confined to a wheelchair.

Making Colorado's Marijuana Industry Toe The Line

COLORADO:  The U.S. Department of Justice says it raided medical marijuana facilities Thursday because they were violating one or more of the “enforcement priorities” laid out in an Aug. 29 agency memo.

If that’s indeed the case, then Coloradans should support the crackdown, because those priorities are largely sound.

They include, for example, “preventing the distribution of marijuana to minors” and preventing the diversion of cannabis to other states. Who could argue? [Read more…]

Feds Raid Denver-Area Marijuana Dispensaries And Grow Operations

COLORADO: Federal authorities Thursday morning were executing search and seizure warrants at multiple Denver-area medical marijuana facilities, according to the U.S. Department of Justice.

The raids are occurring at both medical marijuana dispensaries and at warehouses where pot is grown.

At one raid in Boulder, a pile of seized marijuana lay in the snow like Christmas trees until a front-end loader scooped it up. At the VIP Cannabis dispensary in Denver, broken glass from a shattered front window littered the parking lot while agents hauled boxes of evidence into a U-Haul truck. Police turned customers away.
