Parents Believe Medical Marijuana Could Change Son’s Life

NEBRASKA: A Bellevue couple said if medical marijuana could help their son’s seizures, they want it legalized.

Will Gillen was diagnosed with Lennox-Gastaut syndrome. Every day, the 11-year-old experiences violent seizures that prevent him from developing like most children.

“The medicines that he’s on right now, there are multiple side effects and he is in a constant fog,” said Shelley Gillen, Will’s mother.

A clearer option for Will could be five hours west — a medical marijuana product called cannabidiol oil, or CBD. Colorado parents with children similar to Will report seeing positive results. [Read more…]
