NECANN Boston 2020 Rescheduled To June 27-29

Illinois convention also postponed; new dates pending

Action was necessary as part of public-health response to COVID-19

MASSACHUSETTS: The New England Cannabis Convention announced today it has rescheduled its NECANN Boston 2020 show to June 27, 28 and 29 at the Hynes Convention Center in Boston.  The annual meeting of the New England Cannabis industry – originally scheduled for March 20-22 – was postponed this week as concerns escalated over the global COVID-19 outbreak and its impact on public health and safety.

NECANN will honor all vendor registrations, pre-sale tickets, and sponsor commitments on the convention’s new date. The New England Cannabis Community Awards, The Diversity Supplier Expo/Job Fair, and the first-annual NECANN Competition awards will remain as featured programs during the rescheduled three-day cannabis trade show.

“We are facing a world health crisis, and every community in New England and beyond needs to work together and make the right decisions to control this outbreak,” said Marc Shepard, Co-Founder and President of NECANN. “We are working closely with the Hynes Convention Center to plan for these new dates in June. And of course, as the situation with Covid-19 evolves, we will assess with the Hynes and the City of Boston the status of public health and safety measures as we approach June 27. Nonetheless we are grateful to have new dates in place for the premier cannabis industry trade show in the Northeast.”

The Illinois NECANN convention originally planned for April 3-4 has also been postponed. The NECANN team is working with local organizers, the City of Chicago and our venue, the Chicago Hilton, to identify new dates for that show.

NECANN’s goal is to maintain as much of each show’s original programming as possible. Any changes to speakers and programming will be announced as soon as possible.

“All exhibitor registrations and pre-sale tickets have been transferred to the new dates for Boston, and the same will be done for Illinois,” Shepard said. “We appreciate everyone’s understanding, patience and support. We are all in this together, and hope that the steps being taken have a positive impact on controlling this outbreak and protecting the health and safety of our communities.”

NECANN Boston To Be Re-scheduled Due To COVID-19 Concerns

MASSACHUSETTS: Due to the increasing concern and public health crisis due to the COVID-19
outbreak, the NECANN Boston convention, scheduled for March 20-22, is being postponed.
We are working with our venue partners and city officials to select a new date in 2020 and will update everyone as soon as we have specific information and details to share. All vendor registrations and pre-sale tickets will be honored for the new date. Please be advised that this postponement will impact the convention, the NE Canna Community awards show, and the NECANN Competition awards.
We appreciate everyone’s patience and support during this incredibly difficult time and this decision, and look forward to working with everyone to make this year’s event as successful as it has been for the last five years.
If anyone has any questions, please understand that we are still actively working with our partners to secure the new date and address this change, and ask that you wait before contacting us until we know exactly the new details and dates.
Thank you again on behalf of the NECANN family. We will see everyone soon and get through this together.

Revolutionary Clinics Opens Up Dispensary In The Greater Boston Area

MASSACHUSETTS: Revolutionary Clinics, a vertically integrated medical marijuana company, today announced that its new dispensary, located at 67 Broadway, Somerville, MA, opened to patients on Thursday, November 9, 2017 at 11:00 AM Eastern Time. The company hosted a Grand Opening for the dispensary on Thursday, November 9, 2017 for the community.  Investors, media and customers were invited to attend this special event to view the dispensary’s unique selection of premium medical cannabis products.

Meg Sanders, Managing Director, said, “We have worked for years to get this location opened to serve the people of Somerville and surrounding areas and the date has finally arrived.”

Revolutionary Clinics is proud to be the 15th licensed RMD in Massachusetts, serving Somerville and the greater Bostonarea. The dispensary will offer premium medical cannabis, flowers, shatters, waxes and oils, among several other high-quality cannabis products from a selection of highly reputable providers of superior grade medical cannabis.

“We are incredibly excited to serve the community here in Somerville.  We aim to have the best quality products and the high end service and will work hard to meet the needs of all of our clients,” Keith Cooper, CEO, stated.

The company started as a nonprofit, providing heart screenings to young patients. After the founder’s daughter died of an opioid overdose, the company pivoted, encouraged by studies demonstrating reduced opioid deaths in areas with friendlier marijuana laws. This passion for helping the community and patients led to creating the Somerville dispensary and plans for a Cambridge, MA location.

NEW JERSEY: The newly formed 501c3 non-profit Athletes For Care and C3 Global Biosciences are hosting an educational workshop focused on the active lifestyle cannabis user at the Cannabis World Congress & Business Exposition (CWCBExpo) in Boston on October 4th at the John B. Hynes Convention Center.  CWCBExpo Boston, Oct. 4-6, is the leading business trade show and conference for the medical marijuana, legalized recreational marijuana and industrial hemp industries.

This all-day workshop will offer attendees the exclusive opportunity to get up close and personal with several of the pro athletes who are leading the cannabis-in-sports movement.  This jam-packed day will include two educational panels featuring the representatives from Athletes For Care along with industry experts and medical professionals.

The first panel discussion will examine “Performance Training Concepts Incorporating Cannabis,” with the second panel focusing on “Leveraging the Power of Influencer Marketing.”  The day’s activities will also include a Q&A with the audience following each panel discussion, as well as revealing “One-on-One” conversations with former pro athletes discussing the role of cannabis in their sport, their career, and their life.

“The Cannabis Industry: Growth Opportunities for Professionals, Operators and Investors” Is October 17th In Boston

MASSACHUSETTS: Burns & Levinson and Viridian Capital Advisors will co-host “The Cannabis Industry: Growth Opportunities for Professionals, Operators and Investors,” an invitation-only event that will explore opportunities within the rapidly growing multi-billion dollar cannabis industry for professional investors and entrepreneurs. The conference will be held on October 17, 2017 from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. EDT at the Hilton Boston/Dedham Hotel.

This investor-focused conference is intended to help venture capitalists, private equity firms, and single- and multi-family offices learn more about cannabis investments as an alternative asset class poised to provide non-correlative returns to many other types of investments.  As legalization continues to spread, cannabis is opening new doors in traditional markets – biotech/pharma, real estate, software, consumer packaged goods and branded products, among others – long favored by institutional investors.

The event will feature four in-depth panel discussions, networking opportunities, and a keynote speech by Kris Krane, co-founder and managing partner of 4Front Advisors and president of 4Front Ventures. Krane helped draft Massachusetts Ballot Question 4 – Legalize Marijuana in the 2016 election, and prior to forming 4Front, he served as director of client services for CannBe, which was a pioneer in developing best practices within the marijuana industry. Krane will discuss future opportunities and risks in the marijuana industry in New England and across the country.

“We believe this is the first conference in New England with a specific focus on institutional investing in the cannabis industry,” said Frank A. Segall, co-chair of the Cannabis Business Advisory Group at Burns & Levinson. “Cannabis is already a multi-billion dollar industry, and its growth is projected to potentially increase at an exponential and possibly unprecedented rate over the coming years.”

“There are many promising cannabis industry sectors that are poised for significant growth and return on investment. We want to help the investment community understand the risks and rewards, and give them the tools they need to take advantage of these opportunities,” added Scott Moskol, who co-chairs Burns’ Cannabis Business Advisory Group with Segall.

Specific breakout sessions will include:

The New England Experience – A discussion on how cannabis business operators across New England have navigated the sometimes tempestuous legal waters to build successful businesses including raising capital and investments.

Follow the Money: Analyzing Capital Flow into the Legal Cannabis Industry – A look at the capital infusions necessary to launch, operate, or invest in the cannabis space, with Viridian providing deal-data insight regarding capital raises and M&A activity.

Sector Focus: Cannabinoid-Based Biopharmaceuticals and Personalized Medicine – A deep dive into the research, development, and commercialization of cannabis-based pharmaceuticals, an industry sub-sector that could hold the greatest potential value over time.

The Future of Cannabis – A critical review of key legal and regulatory changes on the horizon and the expected impact for investors and capital providers.
