420MEDIA Trailblazers In Cannabis: Joshua Caruso, The AmeriCanna Dream Festival

Trailblazers In CannabisDigital marketing agency 420MEDIA and the Marijuana Business Association (MJBA) have joined forces to create a series highlighting entrepreneurs trailblazing the cannabis scene. Each week, we profile a noteworthy business pioneer, and ask each 5 questions. This week’s featured trailblazer is Joshua Caruso,  co-organizer of The AmeriCanna Dream Festival.

Tell us about your Company

We are a group of California cannabis pioneers that have come together to bring to you a cannabis event experience like no other.  You will see that we are different than your typical cannabis event. We are a community-based organization that has deep grass roots in the cannabis industry with combined experience of over 65 years.  We are not a corporate new company buying our way in the industry. We hold values and strive to be a good positive example for our growing community. We do not have investors, backers or corporate interests in our company decisions and hold a very high respect for those who have fought to get our industry to where it is now.

The AmeriCanna Dream Festival is California’s premier grass roots cannabis farmers market style licensed cannabis event.

Why did you choose the cannabis/hemp business?

We saw a great number of our peers and family members suffering with pain and forced to use pharmaceutical drugs. We saw a opportunity through event gatherings to educate and provide a natural way for those to medicate without use of those harmful drugs. We also saw that through these events we are providing a safe place for our industry to gather and discuss new ideas, invigorate each other and together kill the negative stigma while having fun.

What change will your firm address in the industry? Does it address an unmet need?

California cannabis event scene has been a roller coaster with the passing of Prop 64. We hope to provide a prime example of what a licensed non-corporate cannabis event looks like. We support the small business models and those larger businesses that are doing it right. We are not concerned about profits we are concerned about people and the social positive change events like our present.

What has been the reaction to your product/service/technology?

Overall the reaction is good. We are a small fish in an ocean of big fish, so we are working extra hard to make an impact in our industry like no other. We will continue to provide a platform for our community to grow and hope to inspire the next generation to continue down this path cannabis is paving.

Are there any upcoming milestones for your company?

We have done a number of cannabis events, but The AmeriCanna Dream, May 18th & 19th at the Cow Palace in the Bay Area California, is our first licensed event.
