COLORADO: In 5-1 vote, the Green Mountain Falls board of trustees voted to prohibit anything to do with marijuana, including cultivation, manufacturing, testing or sales.
In a nod to the baby-boomer generation, trustee Margaret Peterson drew laughs with her caveat to nixing the idea of weed in town. “I’m going to say something that I never thought, especially in the 70s, I’d say but I would like to move to prohibit marijuana facilities, effective immediately, based on what we’ve already looked at,” she said, referring to two public hearings on the first reading of the ordinance. “This is a bandaid situation.”
Over the past few months, the board has expressed concern about going against federal law that prohibits the use and cultivation of recreational marijuana.
