A Libertarian mayoral candidate in Ohio plans to pass out pot to woo voters.
Jim Berns is running for mayor of Cincinnati and has called the state’s ban on medical marijuana an “abusive law” in violation of basic freedom.
He said on Wednesday he will distribute marijuana plants as part of his crusade to legalize the drug in the Buckeye State.
The candidate announced his plan with a photo that showed him dressed in khakis and a blue blazer while holding a white poster board that reads “FREE MARIJUANA PLANT.”
He is seen standing with two satisfied-looking customers in front of a plastic tray of plants, though he would not confirm if the greenery in the photograph is in fact pot.
