DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA:  In a CNN special to be aired on Sunday, not only will President Barack Obama state his full support of medical marijuana, he’ll also advocate for alternative models of drug abuse treatment which don’t involve incarceration.

The television special, called “Weed 3,” features CNN’s chief medical correspondent Sanjay Gupta, a neurosurgeon who came to support medical marijuana after reviewing the evidence. This time around, he’ll be delving into the politics of medical marijuana research and interviewing President Barack Obama, according to an email obtained by The Daily Caller News Foundation.

Obama has previously predicted that more states will follow the lead of Washington and Colorado in legalizing recreational marijuana, and confirmed that although marijuana is still illegal on the federal level, the Department of Justice will look the other way.

I think it; ABOUT TIME a lot of people are against Obama but if he does this I will admire him. I believe health care for everyone is a wonderful advancement. Big money from pharm companies has kept a great healer illegal and put people in jail who needed it to be normal. Caused them to use other harmful drugs that left system quicker .

Yes, President Obama “states” and VOCALIZES support for medical cannabis, but JTMP feels he should do more; President Obama needs to ACT, he CAN order the DEA or the FDA to remove cannabis from the Schedule 1.

It’s about time. But Medical Cannabis Patients need to keep there status as “Patients” I’m all for Recreational but not if it’s going to take away from the people that are useing it as medicine.
One more point is we the people need to stop useing the term “Marijuana” or “weed” “pot” those are terms used by the same establishment who made Cannabis illegal in the first place.

Yes, there are 2 different worlds: The “Medical Cannabis World” of patients who have fibromyalgia, etc. and are in pain and use cannabis as medicine; And then we have the “Recreational World” where you have the skateboard-riding Stoners. I have been saying for a long time that those 2 worlds will be colliding and in conflict at first. Don’t screw up someone’s access to medicine because you just want to “get stoned”. Please, use a medical reason, even if it is headaches. We need to make sure both worlds can coexist peacefully and smoothly.
