Son’s Pot Post on Facebook Leads to Dad’s Arrest

August 24, 2013 by mj admin 5 Comments

NORTH CAROLINA: Police in Iredell County, North Carolina arrested a father and son for drug charges after the son made a post on Facebook.

On Wednesday, a concerned citizen called police to inform them that a student from East Iredell Middle School was posting photos on facebook of sprouting marijuana plants.

Police responded to the residence and spoke with the teen’s guardians.  Investigators say they found two marijuana plants that were growing in pots behind the house.  The plants were seized and the incident was turned over to Juvenile Services.

During the course of this investigation, they were alerted to another facebook post involving marijuana.

Police say the teen posted photos on facebook of a bag of marijuana.  Deputies went to the apartment on Simonton Road and located a bag of marijuana similar to the one posted on facebook.

Police say as they tried to explain to the father, Todd Wolford, 38, what his son had posted on Facebook, but Todd became uncooperative and belligerent and attempted to walk out as authorities searched the property.

Both Todd and his son were arrested and transported to the Iredell County Jail.

The father was charged with possession of marijuana, drug paraphernalia, contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile, and resisting public officer.  He was held under a $2,500.00 secured bond.

Absolutely ridiculous. Posting it on facebook though, wow, how stupid can you get? Snitching on them did no favors for the family either.

The kid should not have had access to the MMJ, but the father should not have acted the way he did either. But 2 plants in such a minor stage of growth??? Now, back to the bag of weed, again the child had no business having access to it , I am not sure I agree with all the charges but some were warranted….Just my opinion….
