First Marijuana Edibles To Hit The Shelves In Bellingham Wednesday Evening

WASHINGTON:  After more than a month of marijuana sales, a Bellingham retailer will be the first to offer pot-infused food products and oils.

Most marijuana retailers have been open since last month, but the state Liquor Control Board issued emergency rules to keep edibles and oils off of store shelves.

Now, Top Shelf Cannabis – the Bellingham retailer that also made the first legal recreational pot sales in the state at 8:03 a.m. July 8 – will sell marijuana-infused trail mix, Chex mix and nut clusters rolled in powdered sugar and caramel.

It’s not the full menu, but Stesha Rief, owner of Green Chief, the producer of the first edibles on the market, said it’s a well-earned milestone. “We had to get past a lot of rules and regulations to get to this point,” she said.
