Denver City Council Gives Initial Approval To Ban On Open Use Of Marijuana

COLORADO:  The Denver City Council approved a proposal on first reading Monday night that would ban the open use of recreational marijuana, even on private party.

Some council members argue that Colorado voters agreed to legalization of recreational use of marijuana, but not public consumption of it.

The council heard public comments Monday night. It also heard from police Chief Robert White who said enforcement of such an ordinance would be a low priority for the police department.
