Chelan County Ends Moratorium On Pot Businesses

WASHINGTON:  Commissioners on Tuesday ended a moratorium on marijuana growing, processing and retail businesses under the voter-approved Initiative 502.

The moratorium’s end puts state-sanctioned marijuana businesses on the same footing with any other agricultural or retail product in unincorporated Chelan County, commissioners said.

These businesses can locate anywhere in unincorporated Chelan County as long as they meet state regulation and county zoning codes, they said. Douglas County was the first in North Central Washington to give that treatment to I-502 marijuana businesses.
