CALIFORNIA: HempMedsPX — a corporate portfolio company of Medical Marijuana Inc. and the exclusive master distributor and contracted marketing company for CannaVest Corp. and Medical Marijuana Inc. — will be the top sponsor of “Run4Hope,” a fundraiser for CDKL5 seizure research. Run4Hope will take place on September 7, 2013 in Coppell, Texas.
CDKL5 is a rare genetic seizure disorder that has no known cure. Symptoms usually present themselves in the first few months of a child’s life. Most CDKL5 children cannot walk or talk, and are often confined to a wheelchair. Many are unable to feed themselves and suffer from additional medical issues related to their physical impairment.
“Dr. Gupta’s report on medical cannabis gave cannabidiol the kind of mainstream attention that it truly deserves,” said Charles Vest, Director of Communications for HempMedsPX. “For those families who saw Dr. Sanjay Gupta’s special on CNN and want to try high-CBD cannabis oil, but have been afraid of legal or physical consequences of medical marijuana, HempMedsPX has a legal, hemp-based alternative.
“As a father myself, I know how frightening medical marijuana may seem at first. What makes our CBD-rich cannabis oil different is that it is made from hemp seed and stalk, which means it’s 100% legal to consume in all fifty states and over forty countries. That also means that it’s non-psychoactive. What we’re offering is natural, lab-produced and independently tested CBD-rich hemp oil. Nothing more.”
The “Run 4 Hope” fundraiser is expected to draw over 200 participants, many of which have family members who suffer from epilepsy, seizure disorders, or CDKL5. HempMedsPX will be on-site at Run 4 Hope to distribute free samples of Real Scientific Hemp Oil (RSHO), which is 98%+/- cannabidiol (CBD) by concentration (18% by volume), to qualified families. RSHO is similar to the marijuana-based cannabis oil featured on Dr. Gupta’s documentary, WEED, but unlike marijuana-based cannabis oils, RSHO is federally legal to possess and consume. There is no “high” or “stoned” effect from RSHO. Medical Marijuana Inc., CannaVest Corp., and HempMedsPX do not make any medical claims on any of their products, but offer federally-legal, whole-food sources of CBD-rich hemp oil to consumers.
“We are very excited to have HempMedsPX as our top sponsor. They have come through for us in a very big way,” said Penny Howard, co-founder of Hope4Harper. “This event will raise the awareness of this debilitating disorder in our community and raise significant funds for more research by Dr. Frances Jensen, Chair of the Department of Neurology at the University of Pennsylvania.”
