Maine Medical Marijuana Dispensary Fined For Pesticides

MAINE:  The state of Maine has fined the operator of four medical marijuana dispensaries $18,000 for using pesticides in violation of state law and program rules.

A state investigation of Wellness Connection of Maine, which has dispensaries Hallowell, Portland, Thomaston and Brewer, found nine pesticides at the company’s cultivation facilities and 20 violations in the last year.

The chairman of Maine Board of Pesticides Control says the board approved the $18,000 penalty on Friday. He told the Kennebec Journal  that the fine has been negotiated over the last several months.
