ISO/TC126/SC3 relates to the standardization of terminology, test methods and product information for vapor products. The committee includes the following workgroups:

We are very happy to have Arnaud spearheading these efforts on the international level as his expertise and experience with vaping products is paramount to The Blinc Group’s members, partners and products for staying one step ahead when it comes to innovation.”

TILT Holdings’ Jupiter Research Announces Partnership With The Blinc Group

Collaboration to Include Bespoke Vape Products and Partnership on Vaporization Regulatory and Compliance Legislation

MASSACHUSETTS:  TILT Holdings Inc., a foundational technology cannabis platform comprised of assets to support brands worldwide, announced that its subsidiary Jupiter Research has partnered with The Blinc Group to offer bespoke vaporization devices to its clients as well as collaborate on industry innovations, cannabis vaping regulatory and compliance issues.

“Jupiter has always taken pride in being at the forefront of innovation,” said Mark Scatterday, interim CEO at TILT and Founder/CEO of Jupiter.  “As the market continues to grow we are excited to announce our partnership with The Blinc Group, enabling bespoke solutions for our clients and leveraging their expertise when it comes to vaporization regulatory and legal compliance legislation.”

Blinc’s Co-Founder and CEO Arnaud Dumas de Rauly is the Chairman of the International ISO committee on Vaping Standards, Chairman of the European CEN Committee on Vapor Products, former President of FIVAPE in the EU, and a renowned expert in inhalation technology, regulations, manufacturing and distribution.

“We look forward to working closely with Jupiter and bringing additional value and expertise to their extensive network of clients,” said Mr. Dumas de Rauly. “I am excited to see what the future of cannabis vaping landscape holds when two companies like Jupiter and Blinc work closely together to help shape the new standards and set an example for regulatory compliance as a whole.”

In addition to working on bespoke products together for key clients, Jupiter plans to leverage Blinc’s extensive quality control, regulatory and compliance expertise to remain at the forefront of vaporization legislation, ensuring safe and compliant consumption across the United States and internationally.

In January, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention ended its ‘state of emergency’ general public advisory against vaping, due to the sharp decline in e-cigarette, or vaping, product use-associated lung injury cases being reported. The focus and scope of efforts to address the unregulated businesses and unlicensed storefronts is still an important factor in maintaining safety in the industry. The Blinc and Jupiter partnership represents an opportunity to accelerate and foster industry innovation and collaboration beyond vaporization.

The Blinc Group And Think20 Labs Announce Research Partnership Focused On Cannabis Vaping Emissions

NEW YORK: The Blinc Group, the leading provider of customized vaping solutions for the Cannabis industry, and Think20 Labs, an analytical testing laboratory for Hemp and Cannabis, announced a research partnership. The objective of this research is to develop a vaping apparatus that helps identify possible dangerous compounds that are inhaled by consumers. More in-depth research will be conducted looking at how the chemicals in the matrices break down as they are vaporized while also analyzing which products can be recommended for safe consumption.

The research partnership combines The Blinc Group’s deep experience in vaping technologies with Think20 Labs’s expertise in pharmaceutical-grade analysis. The Blinc Group’s participation will be headed by the product standards work of Arnaud Dumas de Rauly, CEO of The Blinc Group, Chairman of the ISO Standards on Vaping Products and Chairman of CEN Standards on Vaping Products, and Think20 Labs’s participation will be managed by Conor Jenkins, the scientific director and lead bioinformatician of Think 20 Labs.

Research, development, and implementation of standardized test methods will include, among others, emissions of cannabinoids, terpenes, VOCs, carbonyl compounds, nitrosamines, and heavy metals.

“We are delighted to be joining forces with the forward-thinking science team at Think20 Labs, to research the creation of innovative, safe and tested cannabis vaping products. The Blinc Group and Think20 Labs share a commitment to responsible product development, based on science and experience, in order to address the current vaping issues. We look forward to beginning our work on this important partnership as The Blinc Group continues to strive for a professional, transparent, and sensibly-regulated cannabis industry,” said Arnaud Dumas de Rauly, CEO of The Blinc Group.

Conor Jenkins states: “The overall goal is to drive the regulations regarding these products and informing regulatory bodies of our findings in hopes that we can show an area that has been dangerously overlooked in this field.”

Vape Co. CEO: Trump’s Trade War Will Stifle The Cannabis Industry

The 25% increase in tariffs impact on vaping & cannabis

NEW YORK:  Today, The Blinc Group’s Co-CEO,  Arnaud Dumas de Rauly,  is testifying at The Office of the U.S. Trade Representative (USTR) public hearings regarding proposed tariffs on approximately $16 billion worth of Chinese products.

These proposed tariffs increases – including HTS No. 8543709930 and HTS No. 8543709940 related to vapor product devices, batteries intended for use in vaping devices, and pre filled pods and cartridges – will do great harm to American businesses, medical marijuana patients and adult use consumers while doing nothing to empower American companies to manufacture these products themselves.

The current administration’s trade war raged against China will:

  1. Reduce access to reduced risk vapor products and therapeutic cannabis products to American citizens,

  2. Not bring back jobs to America,

  3. Cut current medical marijuana and adult use States tax revenues by over 25%,

“Increasing tariffs may have worked 20 years ago, when US manufacturing was at its highest, but given the current economy, it is a major mistake to believe that this will bring jobs back to American citizens,” said Dumas de Rauly.

With regards to taxes, “The State of Colorado has collected over $247M in Cannabis tax revenue in 2017. Considering that over the same period, cannabis vaping products comprised 25% of sales volumes, the loss of taxes due to non-availability of the products, would represent $61.75M, which represents the cost of educating 10,445 students. Yes ladies and gentlemen, this revenue is used to fund education, regulation, substance abuse prevention and treatment programs.”

The Blinc Group Debuts X-Pro Series By Ultraflo

NEW YORK: The Blinc Group has launched its latest innovation in vape technology: the X-Pro Series – a revolutionary new heating element that heats only the oil you’re vaping, maintaining the flavor and quality of your oil down to the last drop.

Ultraflo: The most versatile & consistent vape cartridges

Ultraflo: The most versatile & consistent vape cartridges

The Ultraflo X-Pro Series cartridges, powered by a patent pending technology, are by design the most consistent and versatile on the market. While 99.9% of cartridges on the market today use a vertical coil system, which degrades your oil by constant reheating of the entire contents of the cart, the X-Pro Series gravity-fed bottom heating chamber only heats the oil you’re vaping, retaining the flavor and terpenes of the remaining oil for the most consistent vaping experience.

Ending the guessing game of intake hole size, the X-Pro Series eliminates the vertical post coil and uses gravity to feed the bottom ceramic heating chamber.  The X-Pro Series is the fruit of collaboration between The Blinc Group and Itsuwa Electron Co. Ltd. represents a major shift with regards to the consistency of the vaping experience. Keeping in mind future regulation and compliance, our teams have redefined standards by putting the X-Pro Series through a robust set of testing which includes heavy metal emissions and thermal degradation ” said Arnaud Dumas de Rauly, Co-CEO of The Blinc Group.

The Wink In Weed: Back East We Are Winning The War

By David Rheins

I’m back from a week on the East Coast, part of an ongoing CannaFest Destiny Tour of education, professional community and business development that myself and Curved Papers founder Michael O’Malley have been on for the past eighteen months or more.  On this last leg, MJBA and Curved Papers made stops in New York City and Boston, hosting meetups, sitting down with cannabis industry influencers, investors as the legal canna-business shifts into overdrive.

A packed house full of business pioneers filled The Blinc Group for the MJBA New York February MeetUp

A packed house full of business pioneers filled The Blinc Group for the MJBA New York February MeetUp

With sweeping views of the Brooklyn Bridge, the New York HQ of The Blinc Group was the site of the February MJBA NY MeetUp, a discussion of “The Business and Science of Vaporization.”  More than 70 industry pioneers – including representatives from CannaGather, HIghNY, Women Grow, NJCS — came out on a beautiful Monday evening to enjoy a presentation from The Blinc Group’s Arnaud Dumas de Rally, who video conference in from Berlin.

I was able to share with the room — packed with a mix of growers, manufacturers, investors and entrepreneurs – the realities of what legalization looks like out West.  I spoke about the amazing diversity of product innovation and retail experience available to legal cannabis consumers, and the challenges of a hyper competitive, over-regulated marketplace.  With New Jersey likely to open its adult-use market as early as this summer, the crowd in New York was electric.  The same excite that we saw in Colorado and Washington in 2012, and in Alaska and Oregon in 2014, was present here in 2018 New York City.  MJBA’s Stu Zakim gave a recap of last month’s successful NJ Cannabis Symposium, and invited MJBA members to enjoy a special discount on tickets on the next NJ Cannabis Symposium event on March 29th, The Finance and Investment Event.

On Wednesday and Thursday, MJBA Communications chief Zakim and I drove up to Boston for the Cannabis Market Strategies New England conference.  An intimate gathering, the event was designed to provide peer-to-peer dispensary and cultivator strategies to help participants master the business challenges of the region’s industry.

Distinguished Speaking Faculty included Michael Dundas, Sira Naturals; Jeffrey Finkle, ARC Angel Fund; Kris Krane, 4Front Ventures; Aimee Burke, Phylos Bioscience; Julia Germaine, Temescal Wellness MA; and Roz McCarthy, Minorities 4 Medical Marijuana.  Both Stu Zakim and I were honored to be featured speakers, representing MJBA. Tim Smale, Remedy ME, served as the master of ceremonies during the two-day conference.

The folks at the conference are from Maine, and Vermont and Massachusetts.  The industry is still caregiver safe access points and medical marijuana dispensaries.  Cannabis here is a cottage industry, oftentimes described as the “grey market,” and it could be 10 years ago in Washington or Oregon.  The people who make things happen have come out to see what the future portends.  They exchange industry intelligence, swap business cards and sneak outside for a furtive hit with fellow industry colleagues.  “Is this legal here in Massachusetts?” asks one Maine farmer as he takes a toke and passes the dutchie to the left.

“We’re not supposed to be smoking in public,” answers a local.  “But the cops in Boston have better things to do with their time.”

Potbotics Joins The Blinc Group

NEW YORK: Potbotics, a data aggregation and technology company focused on the global medical cannabis market, has joined The Blinc Group incubator with the goal of developing adoption and distribution strategies across the US for the first smart dose measuring vaporizer.

A key component of alternative medicine is dosing, and the process can be risky due to the inherent guesswork. Potbotics new approach allows for ultra-precise dosing according to the specific requirements of each individual patient with optimizations for micro-dosing.

Being able to analyze a patient’s use over time will allow the vaporization, whether it’s oil or flower, to be fully customized to their needs. This high quality vaporizing experience enables patients to accurately track how much they inhale in order to deliver consistent and predictable results.

“Blinc Groups market insights, vaporizer know how, and partnerships are a great fit to leverage the disruptive technology Potbotics has been developing for the past three years, ” commented CEO of Potbotics, David Goldstein.

Arnaud Dumas de Rauly, Chief Strategy Officer of The Blinc Group, said “Patients use micro-dosing for a variety of health conditions, that include seizures, autism, and cerebral palsy. Developing a dosaging device is the next big step towards consistency and pinpointing symptoms, we are very proud to be working with Potbotics on this system.”

The Blinc Group Successfully Closes First Financing Round

NEW YORK: The Blinc Group, a distribution-centric vapor and cannabis incubator, successfully closed its first financing round. With an infusion of US-based private capital, The Blinc Group intends to deploy these funds in day-to-day operations including operations, marketing, business development and lobbying.

Successful transactions closed as the result of active and consistent fundraising efforts by The Blinc Group. The company attracted the advisory support of several international groups.

Arnaud Dumas de Rauly, Chief Strategy Officer of The Blinc Group, said “Securing this initial round of funding allows us to further establish The Blinc Group’s leadership in the vapor and cannabis industries and has the added benefit of expanding our board. Along with our eight current members, this round completes the first milestone in The Blinc Group’s expansion strategy.”

In order to capitalize on the upward momentum for the incubator, The Blinc Group will channel a significant part of the financing into expanding their international distribution partnerships, as well as developing research assets and white papers to further assist member companies in their go-to market strategies.
